My first week into my British adventure and I've already been to the following locations:
I came across an interesting quote on a gravestone at the Winchester. The man's name was Thomas Thetcher and his grave gave a warning to other soldiers:
Here in peace sleeps in Hampshire Grenadier.
Who caught his death by drinking cold small beer.
Soldiers be wise from his untimely fall
And when ye're hot drink Strong or none at all.
The gravestone dates back to 1764. I'm not sure if this is good advice or not!
I arrived in London today to make my literary journey. I brought beloved copies of the following books:
Luckily they are on my Kindle, so my suitcase doesn't weight a ton.
I'm ready for the journey. To quote Dickens: Ride on! Rough-shod if need be, smooth-shod if that will do, but ride on! Ride on over all obstacles, and win the race!
