Final Project - Due 12/14

For your final project, you will create a website to document either a software application or a hardware device (such as a camera or cellphone).

Number and types of pages

You will need to create a total of ten web pages. A minimum of five pages should include tasks that describe how to use the software or hardware, as well as at least five supporting pages that provide general information about the software or hardware.

For example, if you wanted to document the features of your cellphone phone, you might consider including the following pages:

Topic type Topics
Task type
  • Making a call
  • Taking a picture
  • Reviewing your call history
  • Adding a contact
  • Sending a text message
Concepts
  • Phone model xyz
  • Phone basics
  • What is a contact?
Reference
  • Phone accessory types
  • Phone specification

Required elements

Within the website, you must:

  • Include a navigation system that provides links to all the pages so that they are accessible
  • Include a CSS style sheet that formats and styles the web pages
  • Include examples of the following elements:
    • bullet lists
    • ordered lists
    • headings
    • images
    • cross-references
    • different heading levels
    • an example of a form
    • inline elements (such as <strong> and <em>)
  • Use one of the page layout formats in the book to create a sidebar or multiple columns

You will be graded both on the content of your web page and your HTML elements and structure. So, ensure that you always use proper grammar and write in a clear, concise format.

Turning the project in

  1. Create a folder named yourName_finalProject.
  2. Place your HTML and image files within that folder.
  3. Post the folder to your website.
  4. Zip the yourName_finalProject folder and name it yourName_FinalProject.zip. Upload the zip file to the Projects area within Blackboard. Include a comment on the Project page that links to the URL of your project.
